Handcrafted Popcorn
Tin Acre was founded in New Bremen, Ohio and is a woman-owned and operated gourmet popcorn company. In 2018, we started in the Balster home with just a few flavors for the Holidays and continued to do it annually just at Christmas time. Abby and her family made popcorn after long days at the office, so people could enjoy it at family gatherings and give an extra special gift at the holidays.
In 2020, our owner, Abby Balster, decided it was time to make Tin Acre “pop.” We now feature 65+ flavors of popcorn, which all started with a simple caramel recipe from Abby’s aunt. The flavors vary from a basic caramel to savory white cheddar to our specialties like buckeye and dreamsicle. You can pick-up a bag at our location in Botkins, OH, local shops, or the farmers’ market.
We purchased our building in Botkins in December of 2022 and opened the storefront in April of 2022. This expansion allows us to offer our famous gourmet popcorn along with Ashby’s Sterling Ice Cream, and gourmet cookies.
